VERIFICATION OF THE LOGISTICS SYSTEM

Introduction

Success of a business is mainly evaluated based on the ability to meet the requirements of the clients. Market needs are constantly increasing and thus it puts an increasing demand on the improvements in the area of production flexibility, reduction of costs and improvement of quality of offered products and services. CEIT Technical Innovation, s.r.o., in cooperation with the University of Žilina, delivers innovative complete solutions in logistics to help business increase productivity by introducing automated systems in the production process.

Logistics systems for the automatic supply of a robotic workstation.

Transportation and material handling are an integral part of the production in a company. This requires increased demands on the management of logistics processes and reduced human error factor.

One way to reduce errors is to improve the quality is to use a logistics system for automated supply of assembly lines or robotic workplaces.

CEIT Logistics System

For automated supply of robotic workplaces and assembly lines, CEIT Technical Innovation, s.r.o. has developed a comprehensive solution that consists of several modules. For a wide range of issues we will take a closer look at the main element of the logistics system AutomaticGuidedVehicle (AGV) and individual peripherals that facilitate material handling during transport.

AGV

Automatic guided vehicle (Fig #1) is one of the elements of the logistics system serving for towing or carrying material along a predefined path. The path is determined by a magnetic tape, which is glued to the ground. Magnetic labels are placed along the magnetic path, which help to define commands controlling the AGV.

AGV peripherals applied in practice

Automatic roller conveyor is designed to fulfil the functions of towed transport equipment behind AGV towing hitch. It provides fully automated and unattended exchange of material. Automatic conveyor system consists of two basic parts:

1. Automatic mobile conveyor

2. Automatic static conveyor

E-Frame conveyor is intended to perform the functions of towed transport equipment behind AGV towing hitch or standard towing unit. It allows manual or fully unattended automatic exchange of material. The automatic conveyor system consists of three basic parts:

1. Mobile E-Frame

2. Static E-Frame

3. E-Frame Handling Chassis

Wagon with gravity tilting is intended to perform the functions of towed transport equipment behind AGV towing hitch. It allows automatic unattended exchange of materials. The automatic conveyor system consists of two basic parts :

1. Dynamic wagon with gravity tilting

2. Static shelve with gravity tilting

Testing in laboratory conditions

Testing of prototypes is a major and integral part of any development process of a new product. Testing should be carried out at the early stages of design. Early testing can readily eliminate unwanted weaknesses of the design. CEIT Technical Innovation, s.r.o. has a well-equipped laboratory, where all our products are tested for long periods of time during the design stage. For the final fine-tuning of the system, it is important to simulate real conditions and the actual verification of real industrial conditions in order to eliminate incompatibilities, which helps us to polish individual elements of the robot system and test the operation of the system as a whole.
